Fat Loss
Fat loss has become the goal of many people living in modern societies. How obesity and unhealthy weight gain are caused is not as important as determining how to shed the weight. There is more than one approach to losing weight. People have different goals for their fat loss. Therefore, they have need of different methods. Furthermore, men and women have different body chemistries and should rely on different fat loss tips.
The Goal of Weight Loss
When overweight people talk about fat loss, they are usually speaking about the desire to lower their overall body weight. However, that is not a realistic goal for everyone. Weight is less of a problem than fat itself. When people carry extra fat on their frames, they usually suffer from a variety of health issues. They can avoid these health problems either by shedding the fat or by converting that body mass into muscle. Most diet and exercise regimens do a little of both. Exactly which method you use depends on your personal goals.
General Fat Loss Tips
No matter what your goals are, you will need to change your diet and exercise more. The degree to which you add or alter these parts of your life will be affected by lifestyle and gender. However, some of the following tips should prove useful regardless of your particular goals.
• Quality of Food
Many people first try to address the quantity of food that they eat. This is important. However, studies have shown that it is the quality of the food that people are eating rather than the amount that has the biggest effect on body size and health. Alter your diet to include more raw foods and whole grains. Avoid processed and canned food as much as possible. One easy way to start down this road is to only snack on fruits and vegetables. Before you even address your meals, simply change your snacks to healthy foods. After you become more accustomed to eating these foods, begin to include them in your meal plans.
• Quantity of Food
According to dieticians, people in the United States are now eating four times as much at every sitting than people did in the 1950’s. Healthy portion sizes are smaller than what you might think. For instance, you are only supposed to eat about five or six ounces of meat, beans or eggs in an entire day. You could hold such a portion in the palm of your hand. Start eating less in addition to eating what is good for you.
• Exercise
Many people fail at the exercise portion of their fat loss plan. They think that they need to purchase a membership at a gym in order to exercise. When they cannot find time or money to do that, they give up.
All that is really necessary is a 30-minute walk every day. Turn off the TV. Skip your favorite show and take a walk around your neighborhood. Come back home in 30 minutes and watch your body change over the course of just a few weeks.
Fat Loss Tips for Women
Women, like men, may become overweight at any age. However, weight gain often becomes a much more significant issue for women after they turn forty. Here are some tips for slimming down.
• When you exercise, do more cardio than weight lifting.
• Stretch after all exercises. Get a massage if you have partner to help.
• Drink a lot of fluids to help your body shed toxins.
• Do not deny your cravings. Divert them. When you want sweets, eat blueberries or cherries rather than products made with refined sugar.
Fat Loss Tips for Men
Thanks to their biochemistry and social approval, men have one obvious way to shed fat. They can lift weights. This will help give them the body and physical strength they desire. While this method may shed some of the dangerous fat that a man carries; it will not make him skinny. If you want to shed belly fat and love handles, you will have to add some details to your weight loss plan.
• Cut out the fried food from your diet.
• Lower your alcohol intake. You cannot drink a lot of beer and think you will avoid a beer belly.
• Make sure you include walking or bike riding in your exercise regimen. Do not simply focus on lifting weights.
